The Major Arcana are the deck's 22 trump cards, numbered 0 (The Fool) through 21 (The World). They deal in archetypes — fate, transformation, love, loss, awakening — the forces larger than any single day.

When several Major Arcana land in a spread, the cards are telling you this is a real chapter, not a passing mood. Their run, from the innocent Fool to the completed World, is often read as the Fool's Journey: a map of growing up and becoming whole.
