Everyone comes to tarot wanting to know the future, and the deck will happily talk about it — as long as you remember what kind of future it shows. Tarot doesn't read a fixed destiny; it reads a trajectory. It tells you where the current is carrying you if nothing changes, which is exactly the thing worth knowing while you can still change it.
That makes a Past–Present–Future reading the natural place to start: one card for what set this in motion, one for where it stands now, and one for where it's heading. Read as a single line, the three become a story with a direction — and the future card is a forecast you can act on, not a sentence you have to serve.
So ask the cards "where is this going?" rather than "what will happen to me?" The first keeps you in the driver's seat; the second hands them a steering wheel they were never meant to hold.
