Celtic Cross

A classic ten-card spread examining a question from many angles — present, challenge, past, future, hopes, and outcome.

The Celtic Cross is the best-known tarot spread: ten cards that examine one question from every side. A central cross covers the heart of the matter and what crosses it, the recent past and near future, what's above (aims) and below (roots); a staff of four then reads your approach, your environment, your hopes and fears, and the likely outcome.

Its depth is the point and the pitfall — it rewards a real question and can overwhelm a vague one. Read it as a conversation across the ten positions rather than ten separate verdicts, and let the outcome card be shaped by everything leading to it.
