Significator
A card chosen to represent the querent or the heart of the question.
A significator is a card chosen ahead of time to stand for the querent or for the core of the question, and placed at the centre of some spreads (traditionally in the Celtic Cross). Readers often pick a court card that matches the querent's temperament or situation.
It's an optional, older technique. Many modern readers skip it, letting the drawn cards speak for themselves rather than pre-assigning a stand-in — but as an anchor for a big spread it can still focus a reading.
